What a luxury car rental in Dubai really costs
On 1 Oct 2026 we asked 19 Dubai rental companies for the same thing: a Lamborghini Urus or a Mercedes G 63 for 3 days at the end of October, delivered to Dubai Marina, with the total price including VAT and every charge. 17 sent prices. Here is how the totals compare with the prices on their own websites.
The website price is a guide, not the total
For the Urus, the usual quote was 1% above the price on the company’s website (12 quotes). For the G 63 it was 5% above (15 quotes). That sounds close, but the spread is wide: from 20% below to 36% above the website price, and 7 of the 15 G 63 quotes were more than 10% above it. Two companies quoting the same car can differ by thousands of dirhams for three days.
Where the difference comes from
- VAT. UAE rules require prices shown to consumers to include 5% VAT, yet 10 of the 15 companies that made VAT clear quoted a daily rate before VAT and added 5% on top. Check whether the price you see includes VAT.
- No-deposit fees. Four companies offered to skip the deposit for a fee of Dh 240 to 525.
- Delivery. Free at most companies, but some charge Dh 100 to 390 for delivery and pickup, more at night or to the airport.
- Card payment. 3% to 6% extra at some companies, 7% for American Express.
- Discounts the website does not show. Lower rates for 3 days or more, offers for renting early, a discount for big engines and “book 3 days, get 1 free”. Prices are negotiable: one company quoted a car at about half the price on its own website.
Deposits
4 of the 17 companies asked for no deposit. The others hold Dh 500 to 5,000 on your card, most often Dh 3,000 to 5,000. The money comes back late: most often after 21 working days, which is about a month, and some up to 28 days. Companies say they keep it that long because traffic fines can take up to three weeks to appear. If you would rather not have the money blocked, ask about a no-deposit option and its fee. More in our deposits guide.
Kilometres
Every company that stated a limit includes 250 km a day. Extra kilometres cost Dh 5 to 25 each, usually more for the Urus than for the G 63.
Check the exact car
Several listings were not the car that was quoted. A listing called “Urus” turned out to be an Urus SE at a higher rate, a “G 63” was a Brabus version, and some companies offered a more expensive version instead of the car asked for. Ask for the model year and photos of the car you will get before you pay.
What to ask the company
- What is the total for my dates, including VAT, insurance and delivery?
- How much is the deposit, how is it taken, and how many days until it comes back? Is there a no-deposit option, and what does it cost?
- How many km a day are included, and what does each extra km cost?
- Is there a fee for paying by card?
- Which model year is the car, and can you send photos of it?
How we checked
We sent the same request to each company by WhatsApp on 1 Oct 2026 and compared each quote with the same company’s published price for the same car. In two cases that listing turned out to be a more expensive version (an Urus SE and a G 63 Brabus), which explains the widest gaps. Percentages use only quotes where the company made clear whether VAT is included. This is one date and two cars, and prices change every day, so treat the figures as a guide. We do not name the companies: the point is what to check, not who to avoid.
