How we compare prices
SupercarMenu compares daily prices for self-drive luxury car rental in Dubai. We list prices; we do not rent cars or take payments.
Where prices come from
Every price comes from a rental company’s own website. We do not use marketplaces or listing portals. We read each company’s website once a day and respect what the site allows. A price read on a company’s website is shown for up to 3 days. A price a rental company sends us itself is shown as confirmed by the company for 30 days, or until its own website shows a new price. After that we only link to the listing. A company that does not want its prices read can tell us at hello@supercarmenu.com and we stop. Companies that sign in can send their own rates, which replace the price we read after we check it.
How offers for one car are ranked
On each car page, each company appears once, with its price that has the highest Best Deal Rating, highest rating first. When two ratings are equal, the lower daily price comes first, then the newer model year, then company name A to Z.
Prices without a Best Deal Rating follow, lowest price first: those of companies we have not rated yet (“Not rated”), and those with too little data to judge value, such as a car that fewer than 5 companies price (“Not enough data”).
“From” prices, night packages, prices on request and companies with no current price are listed apart under “Not compared”, with the reason; prices held out for checking are left out and counted there. No company pays to rank higher, and no payment changes the order. You can also sort by lowest daily price, where each company appears at its lowest price and, when two prices are equal, the newer model year comes first; or by newest model year.
How we rate rental companies and cars
Each company with 5 or more priced cars gets a SupercarMenu rating from 1 to 10, from facts about the company only. It looks at six things, the first two weighing the most:
- Honest prices: whether the price you see is the price you pay.
- Renters’ ratings: how renters rate the company in public ratings online, where a few ratings count for less than many. A company without enough ratings counts as a middle score here.
- Clear terms: how clearly the company states what you rent, what a rental includes and what it costs.
- Value for the car: the price compared with what other companies ask for the same car, counting how much a car of that model and age is worth.
- Fleet: how new the cars are and how wide a choice the company offers.
- Service: what the company does for you around the rental.
Each priced car from a rated company gets its own Best Deal Rating from 1 to 10 when we have enough data for it, and car pages list prices in Best Deal Rating order. It weighs three things, the most important first:
- Value for the car: this price against what the car cost new for its model year, compared with what renters pay for cars of that value across the site and with every price for the same family of cars. A price that does not say whether VAT is included counts with 5% VAT on top.
- The company: the company’s rating above.
- The car: how new this car is. A car without a model year counts as older than the year companies usually state for that model.
We read every fact from the company’s own website and from the prices we compare. We do not publish the checks inside each group, so the ratings cannot be gamed. A company can ask us at hello@supercarmenu.com for the facts behind its own rating. Nobody pays for a rating, and no payment changes one. Best Deal Rating order is the standard order on every car page; lowest daily price is one tap away.
How car lists are sorted
Lists of cars (all cars, body types, the home page section “Most listed in Dubai”) are sorted by the number of rental companies that list each car, then by the number of published prices. Brand pages use the same order. The under Dh 1,000 list is sorted by lowest daily price. Daily budget groups use the average price, so one very low price cannot put a car in a lower budget. You can change the order on every list: lowest price, number of rental companies, newest model year, highest price or A to Z. This order says how widely a car is offered, not how good it is, and payment never changes it.
How rental companies are listed
The company directory is sorted by the company’s SupercarMenu rating, highest first, as explained under How we rate rental companies and cars above. Companies not rated yet follow, most cars listed first. You can sort by most cars listed, lowest daily price or A to Z instead. Payment never changes these orders.
“From” prices
Some companies show a price as “from”. We label these and leave them out of the lowest and average price, because the price you pay may be higher. A car with only “from” prices shows “No company shows a price for this car today” and lists them under “Not compared”. 392 of 6,718 prices are “from” prices and 0 are night packages (evening to morning), which we also leave out.
Unusual prices
When a car has 5 or more prices, we hold out any price below 60% of the average price for that car, or above 3 times the middle of all its listed prices. “From” prices are held out below 40% or above 3 times the car’s average price, or the brand or body type average price when the car has too few prices. They are left out of the comparison until we check them; the car page says how many. Prices from a company we have not verified yet are held apart the same way. They can be a different vehicle, a different rental period or a reading error on our side. 120 offers are held out today.
Tuned versions
Versions changed by tuners such as Brabus, Mansory and Keyvany have their own prices. They are not counted in a car’s lowest or average price or in its list of companies. On the car page they stand at the top, above the list, one tap away.
Average price
We count each company once, at its lowest daily price. The average price is the one in the middle of those prices: half of those companies list the car for less, half for more. With an even number of companies it is halfway between the two in the middle. We take the middle rather than adding all prices up and dividing, so one very high or very low price cannot pull the average.
Coverage
We list companies that publish prices on their own websites. That is not every rental company in Dubai.
VAT
UAE rules require prices shown to consumers to include 5% VAT, but in our 1 Oct 2026 price check 10 of the 15 companies that made VAT clear quoted their daily rate before VAT and added 5% on top. So every offer says what we know: “VAT included” when the company states it; “5% VAT added by us” when its website says VAT is extra, so we show the price with VAT (open the row to see the company’s own figure); and “VAT not stated” when its website does not say. A daily price marked “VAT not stated” is shown as the company lists it and may be before VAT. Totals for several days add 5% to it and say so.
Price and extras
We show the daily price the company’s website shows, with VAT as above. Deposits, insurance, delivery and Salik road tolls may be extra. Check the final price with the company before you pay.
How we make money
At this stage we earn nothing from the companies we list. Nobody pays for position.
